Fashion Face-Off: Young Lindsay Lohan Versus Old Lindsay Lohan
It’s time for a Lohan versus Lohan battle, and thankfully it doesn’t involve Dina or Michael. If you love a good style showdown, and your favorite Lindsay Lohan movie besides Mean Girls, is The Parent Trap, you’re in for a treat. This fashion face-off is between adult Lindsay and her twin characters from the movie, Hallie and Annie. Prepare for lots of late 90s nostalgia, throwback celebrity photos and hair debates.
Let the young Lindsay versus old Lindsay style showdown commence:
Both Lindsays are wearing chic coats, but the way they have styled them isn’t the greatest. Young Lindsay went for a matchy-matchy headband, while older Lindsay chose a baggy t-shirt and shorts. Young Lindsay wins the first round because at least her outfit makes sense. I have no idea what season old Lindsay is dressing for. Plus, that nice coat deserves better than to be thrown over gym clothes.

Challenge 2: Hoodies
The humble zip up hoodie is the next challenge. Young Lindsay looks the an adorable camper with pigtails and a white (for now) t-shirt. Old Lindsay is wearing the blazer-and-hoodie combination that is normally left for a certain type of guy. For the unusual styling choice, in addition to committing the cardinal sin of wearing sunglasses at night, old Lindz loses this round. Wearing sunglasses when there is no sun never makes you look cool.

Challenge 3: Orange Tops
Orange can be a difficult color to pull off, particularly for redheads (and redheads pretending to be blondes). Young Lindsay’s orange button down and matching hair band are sweet, but old Lindsay takes this one for managing to pull off a flaming orange Flashdance sweatshirt. The unexpected addition of a robin’s egg blue bag sealed the deal.

Challenge 4: T-Shirts As Dresses
The no pants look is a difficult one to pull off, unless it’s part of an intricate dance. Young Lindsay’s outfit actually makes sense because she is at the pool (you remember the scene in the Parent Trap where she splashes that bitch Meredith?). Old Lindsay appears to be on a red carpet. She is wearing a pair of boots that are so high, she probably thought that they qualified as pants. Sorry old Lindsay, they don’t. Young Lindsay wins for having a situation-appropriate outfit.

Challenge 5: Plaid Shirts And Scarves
These are two very different interpretations of plaid shirts with scarves. Young Lindsay added a pop of color to her oversized plaid with a jaunty neckerchief. Bonus points for matching the red backpack to the scarf. Old Lindsay went for a more polished look, an accessorized her palid with Ray Bans, an infinity scarf, and gorgeous blonde locks that rival Blake Lively‘s. Because this is one of the few times older Lindsay made her extensions look amazing, she’s takes this round.

Challenge 6: Posh Purple
This purple is so regal, I’m surprised it isn’t used exclusively for Kate Middleton‘s royal wardrobe. Young Lindsay chose an ill-fitting purple suit jacket with a striped turtle neck, while old LiLo went with a demure dress, which she accessorized with raven locks. Old Lindsay takes this round because she doesn’t look like a dowdy politician.

Challenge 7: Black Bomber Jackets And SunglassesThese two make better twins than Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. They’re wearing IDENTICAL black satin bombers and matching rectangular glasses. It would have come down to a t-shirt and necklace battle, were it not for what happened to the old Lindsay in that jacket…
Yeah, if you end up wearing the jacket in your mugshot, you lose by default. Younger Lindsay is the victor. (I liked her necklace better anyway.)

Challenge 8: Trench CoatsIt’s another outwear challenge. Young LiLo sticks with her headband-and-coat combination, but this two-tone jacket reminds of something grandmothers wear while pushing shopping trolleys. Old Lindsay paired her trench with a mint top and what can only be a Barbie costume wig. Despite the hair, old Lindsay gets a point because this is one of her better court house appearance outfits.

Challenge 9: Fancy White Tops
Young Lindsay is wearing a fancy white nightgown that looks better than some regular clothes people wear in public. A dirty baggy t-shirt, this is not. Old Lindsay is wearing what appears to be a chiffon and shearling jacket over a top that would have created a wardrobe malfunction, if it weren’t covered up. Young Lindsay wins for wearing pyjamas that are chicer than 56% of people’s clothes.

Challenge 10: Patterned Yellow
It’s the final battle! It appears younger Lindsay was inspired by a 1960s secretary, based on her patterned shift and chained glasses-necklace hybrid. Old Lindsay is channelling a disco C-3PO with gold accessories galore. Though I am a Star Wars fan, young Lindsay is the victor for her more wearable interpretation.

And that winner is…young Lindsay Lohan! Older Lindsay put up a mighty effort, but I think we all know that younger Lindsay Lohan will always win. However, if older Lindsay keeps working hard, and makes Mean Girls 2, I’d like to see who will win in a rematch.
